Hi! I’m Isha, psychotherapist in bangalore, india

About Isha

Hi! I’m Isha Aggarwal: a therapist and deeply feeling human.

If you’ve landed here, you may have spent a long time trying to understand yourself. Reading books, listening to podcasts, going to therapy, wondering why you feel things so deeply when other people seem to move through life with ease. From the outside, your life may look like it's working. You meet deadlines, care deeply about others, and carry responsibility well. Yet privately, your inner world feels far more complicated than anyone realizes. Perhaps you've been told you're too sensitive, too emotional, too intense, or that you think too much. Over time, you've learned to question yourself more than you trust yourself.

The people I work with are emotionally complex. Many emotionally complex humans do not have “disordered brains.” They have deeply sensitive nervous systems and learned to mask their true nature and deal with their emotions in isolation. They may have experienced invalidation and denial of their true nature and learned to hide it over time. In therapy, I believe this should be approached with curiosity rather than judgment.

My Philosophy about Therapy

While reducing anxiety, depression, or emotional distress is important, lasting change often comes from understanding the deeper patterns that shaped you in the first place. Together we'll explore the relationships, experiences, protective strategies, and nervous system responses that have helped you survive, while also making space for new ways of relating to yourself and others.

To me, healing is about increasing your nervous system’s capacity to experience feelings on a deeper level, like joy, love, and pain, without falling apart. Healing and recovery are processes that are not meant to erase what you went through, but to allow you to integrate your experiences and come out on the other side with a renewed perspective of life and yourself.

My work is very sacred to me, and I treat it as such. It’s collaborative, relational, and paced according to your capacity. This means that I use the therapeutic relationship as a vessel through which healing can occur, and I assess your capacity and needs periodically to ensure we are following the same path. The relationship we build together is an important part of the work. I believe many of our deepest wounds happen in relationship, and many of our deepest experiences of healing can happen there too.

Who This Work Is For

I work primarily with emotionally complex adults who are ready for deeper therapeutic work.

Many of my clients are thoughtful, insightful, and highly capable. They're often professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, therapists, physicians, or people who carry significant responsibility for others while quietly struggling themselves.

I have a particular interest in working with:

Whether you've been in therapy before or this is your first experience, my hope is that you'll find a safe space where every part of you is accepted and welcome.

My Approach

Our work together will be collaborative and paced according to your capacity. Some sessions may involve exploring your past, while others may focus on what is happening in the present moment, including your emotions, relationships, or the sensations arising in your body. At times, I may gently challenge long-held beliefs or patterns that no longer serve you. At other times, the most important work is simply creating enough safety for difficult emotions to be experienced rather than avoided.

What I look out for in sessions includes recurring themes, relationship dynamics, emotions that arise in session, body language and breathing changes, protective patterns, and what is unsaid beneath the words you say.

My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel deeply understood without feeling judged, where every part of you is met with curiosity rather than criticism, and where you gradually develop a more compassionate, authentic, and trusting relationship with yourself.

My work integrates psychodynamic psychotherapy with Somatic Experiencing®, Dialectical Behavior Therapy-informed skills, attachment theory, and nervous system-based approaches. Rather than applying one model to everyone, I tailor therapy to the individual sitting in front of me. I use psychodynamic theory to understand your patterns and the themes in your life. I use Somatic Experiencing® to assess your nervous system states and help increase your capacity. I like to incorporate DBT-related skills to give practical tools while you navigate mood and anxiety issues.

In sessions with me, I'll probably notice patterns you haven't yet seen, but I'm never interested in imposing meaning. My role is to help you discover your own. By the end of your time with me, I hope you leave with more trust in yourself, self-awareness and embodiment of that awareness, greater understanding of your patterns, and an increased capacity to feel joy, love, and excitement.

If this way of thinking about therapy resonates with you, I'd be honored to walk alongside you in your journey.
