Cycle breakers
For those who want to break generational patterns and create an authentic life
Are you a cycle breaker?
Maybe you grew up in a home where certain things were never spoken about, but were felt by everyone. Where love was complicated, or conditional, or expressed in ways that confused you. Where you learned early to manage yourself carefully, to not take up too much space, or to hold everyone else together while falling apart yourself.
And somewhere along the way, you made a decision, maybe consciously, maybe not, that it was going to be different with you. That you weren't going to carry these patterns forward. That the way things were done in your family was not the way things had to be done forever.
That decision takes courage, but it also takes a toll that people don't talk about enough.
Being a cycle breaker is often a lonely place to stand. You're doing something your family may not understand, and possibly doesn't support. You're grieving a version of your childhood or your relationships that you deserved but didn't get. You're learning, often for the first time and without a map, what healthy boundaries look like, what it means to actually ask for what you need, and how to parent yourself in ways you were never parented. All while navigating real life, real relationships, and a family system that may still be pulling at you.
Therapy is one of the most important investments a cycle breaker can make. Because this work is genuinely hard to do alone. Together, we can look at what you inherited, what you want to leave behind, and who you are becoming outside of the roles your family assigned you. That process is slow sometimes, and uncomfortable a lot of the time. But it is also some of the most meaningful work there is.
